Thanks to the efforts of consumers (patients), physicians, providers of health care and the Coalicion Salud en tus Manos, Senate Bill 2190 was approved, with amendments, by the House of Representatives yesterday June 19, 2008.
Will need to study the small letters of the bill now. We hope this bill will get to the Governor's desk for his signature soon.
This bill relies on the State Action provision within the anti monopolistic laws of the United States, so that providers of care will have as much a say as insurance companies have had for many years in deciding guiding principles and other important items in the provision of health care in Puerto Rico.
